We are less than a month away from that time of the year when all the fall TV shows start rolling in one after the other. Sitcoms like Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory will once again be back with their eighth and tenth seasons respectively. But for the third year running, there's going to be no new season of How I Met Your Mother to look forward to.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. ruled on TV as the best sitcom for 10 years from 1994 to 2004. After F.R.I.E.N.D.S. ended, a void was left and that void was filled by How I Met Your Mother, which aired only a year after F.R.I.E.N.D.S. went off the air. Despite facing tough competition from new shows like The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother thrived as the the best comedy on television through its entire run of nine years.

But what have the cast of How I Met Your Mother been doing for the past three years? Keep scrolling to find out what the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Cobie Smulders and Josh Radnor been up to since How I Met Your Mother went off the air.

How I Met Your Mother may have ended, but the stellar cast are going nowhere. We might not get to see Neil Patrick Harris as Barney Stinson or Cobie Smulders as Robin Scherbatsky again. However, that doesn't mean we won't get to see them doing what they do best in some other role on some other project. Keep an out for the upcoming projects of your favorite actor.
