Have you ever watched someone you love become obsessed with something strange? Maybe you've delved too deep into something you found online and gotten too far in to go back?

One woman (Marissa) documented her boyfriend's Slender Man obsession in a series of fascinating Youtube videos named The Tulpa Effect. Marissa observed Roger's behavior changing over time, and was intrigued/creeped out by it, musing on the Tulpa theory, a Creepypasta adaptation of an ancient Tibetan idea:

A Tulpa is a thoughtform, or being created from the collective thoughts of separate individuals... The Tulpa Effect is the name given to the unintentional creation of a Tulpa based on collective belief of a being with similar traits.

In essence: if people believe something enough, it becomes reality. Here's the first video in the series — Marissa's videos are best watched chronologically — and it's some creepy-as-all-get-out Blair Witch stuff.
