Like Crazy director brings another story of cross-cultural drama and romance
In upstate New York, music teacher and family man, Keith Reynolds (Guy Pearce) is feeling nostalgic about his youth - harking back to zestful bohemian times. When his wife Megan (Amy Ryan) takes in exchange student Sophie (Felicity Jones) from their daughter’s school, their family dynamic is transformed overnight. The young British woman soon arouses Keith’s more impulsive side…
The acclaimed independent film director Drake Doremus and Jones have worked together previously on Like Crazy, where she also played an English college student traveling abroad and developing a relationship with an American. That film followed the difficulty of their subsequent long-distance relationship with a bittersweet poignancy, so it‘s likely that this drama will also follow a more melancholy trajectory.
The film is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013.
