Romeo and Juliet meets The Craft in this supernatural love story
The supernatural romance Beautiful Creatures revolves around Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich), a teenager who dreams of escaping his small town of Glatin. When a mysterious new girl Lena (Alice Englert) comes to town, a friendship is struck up between the two, but trouble soon follows. The Glatin community takes unkindly to Lena as her strange powers threaten to dig up some dark secrets about the town. Emmy Rossum (The Day After Tomorrow), Viola Davis (The Help), Emma Thompson (Love Actually) and Jeremy Irons (Die Hard: With a Vengeance) co-star as Lena’s clan.
Beautiful Creatures is based on the novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, the first installment in a series of four books (Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness, Beautiful Chaos, and Beautiful Redemption) being described as Southern Gothic romance.
