Robert Downey Jr. returns in 3D for a fourth time as Tony Stark!
Iron Man 3D is released in IMAX theaters in IMAX 3D on April 25th, one week prior to its domestic release date!
Iron Man 3 follows the arc of the comic Extremis: Geneticist Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) invents Extremis nanotechnology which can transform people into organic cyborg killing machines. Iron Man’s greatest enemy Mandarin (Ben Kingsley), a scientific genius and superhumanly skilled martial artist, uses this deadly weapon to destroy Tony Stark’s (Robert Downey Jr.) personal life. Forced to fight back, Iron Man must drastically alter his suit, as well as his own DNA in order to win.
Iron Man 3 is set to be released in 3D, making it the first film in the Iron Man franchise to use the extra dimension.
The former director of the previous Iron Man films, Jon Favreau, is returning to the role of Happy Hogan. Xueqi Wang (Warriors of Heaven and Earth) stars as Chen Lu, the scientist who becomes the super villain Radioactive Man and is employed by The Mandarin. Also confirmed is James Badge Dale (The Lone Ranger) playing Eric Savin, a character that is, ‘loosely based on Coldblood.’, an urban soldier cyborg in the Marvel universe.
Shane Black’s most successful film as a director was Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, which played a major role in Robert Downey Jr.’s comeback.
