The Enterprise returns for another galactic adventure under the direction of J.J. Abrams
When the Enterprise returns home to Earth, the crew finds that terrorist and ex-Starfleet employee John Harrison (Benedict Cumberbatch) has commandeered their entire fleet of ships and dispatched them in a full-scale galactic war. Furious, Captain Kirk (Chris Pine) is forced into a decision that costs him his command. Seperated from the Enterprise he tries to rectify his mistake.
Following the successful 2009 reboot of the Star Trek franchise, Star Trek Into Darkness will once again be directed by J.J. Abrams (Super 8).
British born actress Alice Eve has long been attached to the Abram sequel, however her role has been kept under wraps. It has since been announced that she plays Doctor Carol Marcus; a familiar character in the long standing franchise. It the timeline before the reboot, she had a son with James T. Kirk, named David. She appeared in Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan.
