What‘s next for controversial director Lars von Trier? A movie about sex, of course!
The always provocative Lars von Trier (Melancholia) directs this sure to be scandalous tale of a woman who discovers her hidden erotic desires. Nymphomaniac is set to chronicle the development of a woman’s (Charlotte Gainsbourg) sexual prowess from adolescence through to adulthood. Von Trier regular Stellan Skarsgrd is also involved in the project which will be reportedly split into two films detailing different chapters of the female protagonist‘s life. Moreover, Nymphomaniac is expected to be further released in two different versions: softcore and hardcore, with the latter filmed with porn-stars.
Von Trier’s Dogville leading star Nicole Kidman was supposed to make a cameo but dropped out.
