Through the events of Avengers Assemble, Marvel had teased us all with their reference to both the Black Widow and Hawkeye having a dramatic and memorable experience in Budapest. But what did actually happen? After Avengers Assemble we are due to see many more movies featuring the Avengers, however Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) only co-stars in the new Captain America: Winter Soldier movie and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) as it appears will not be seen until the Avengers sequel the Age of Ultron. Why is this? Maybe people for whatever reason believe these two characters are not the flashiest, most appealing or simply the best separately but together they would have the making of a huge block buster film. The other Avengers as we have most likely seen have had their time in the spotlight to show their origins and risings into hero hood and are set to have their time showing them in their primes.
Lets look at what could happen for these two iconic heroes if they were to have their shot, in reference to Budapest which has left more than a few of us thirsty for details. I believe this is where our movie should be set. We would start at the very beginning of these heroes lives such as Clint Barton/ Hawkeye living in his abusive household with his brother Barney to his life in the circus and first learning his talent as an archer. While simultaneously showing the young Natalia "Natasha" Romanova being trained and raised by Red Room. The movie would later go to show the two coming into their own identities with Hawkeye being recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. and Black Widow a solo assassin and obviously we would need to move into the plot of Hawkeye being ordered to end the life of Black Widow in Budapest but in the end refusing.
Which (surprise surprise) would cause trouble for our heroes. Maybe S.H.I.E.L.D. do not entirely agree and try to kill the Black Widow another way leaving Hawkeye to protect her or maybe Hawkeye could simply be dragged into the Black Widows messy situations. This movie would have so much potential with the plot being free to choose whichever genre it could take such as a classic superhero movie to good old action packed spy movie. Throw in some Clark Gregg (Agent Coulson) as Hawkeye's stoic yet slightly amusing handler and some Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) as the BAMF man in charge and leather and you have the next big thing! Seriously Marvel take the hint!
