The Hobbit: There And Back Again may receive a name change ahead of its release later this year.

There are a few possible reasons for the change, from it technically being inaccurate with where the third movie starts, or simply a reference to Chapter VI of The Hobbit, titled "Out of the Frying-Pan into the Fire."

Or does There and Back Again refer to the folksy charm of the novel more than the overbearing CGI chaos of the movies?

Either way, The One Ring is reporting that the studio is thinking of calling the last part of the epic fantasy trilogy The Hobbit: Into The Fire, as opposed to the long-held title The Hobbit: There And Back Again. They say:

A little bird came knocking today, and whispered some intriguing — and slightly baffling — news into our ears. Ringer Spy The Knocking Thrush, who is a reliable source, dropped us a line to let us know that New Line have registered a new title: The Hobbit: Into the Fire.

When the third movie was announced, no names were given beyond that of the first flick, An Unexpected Journey. Aptly, The Battle of Five Armies was rumoured as the name of the final movie for some time before There And Back Again was settled on.

Well, I'm just happy that PJ and his team aren't changing it to The Hobbit: Aragorn Origins! Plus, with Into the Fire, they could at least get Dokken to do the theme tune with Howard Shore.

Do you think The Hobbit should change its name from There and Back Again to Into the Fire - from a name for nerds, to a name for audiences? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below!

The Hobbit: There and Back Again arrives in theaters December 17, 2014.
