There aren't too many among us who'd be willing to tangle with The Rock if it came to a full on, no holds barred fight to the death (or even to the pain). Dwayne Johnson, after all, is a man in possession of an action movie and wrestling career that's enough to categorize him as a deadly weapon.
The guns he's carrying? Smaller arms have settled international border disputes.
The point of which? When The Rock says he could beat up a dude, we pay attention. Especially if it's John Cena.
Recently, though? Johnson might just have bitten off more than he can chew. The actor spoke to Digital Spy about his upcoming movie Hercules, as well as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which he's being heavily linked with a role. More specifically, he was asked about Hercules director Brett Ratner's reported childhood hobby of creating comic books pitting Hercules against Superman.
Let's just put it this way - if the choice is between going big or going home, The Rock has clearly lost his house keys, and he definitely doesn't remember which fake rock he hid the spare set under...
"I know Henry [Cavill] very well...He's a buddy of mine. Who would win in a fight between Hercules and Superman? Just to be clear, you're talking about my Hercules against Henry's Superman? I would take my club and I would knock Superman into next week, and then I would whup his ass for leaving! That's what I would do. [Laughs]"
Which is...well, the makings of a great movie, but also a little unlikely. I mean, Hercules is a pretty badass Demi-God and all, but Superman is, for all intents and purposes, a full-blown, fully functioning, sun-powered deity.
Batman might be able to beat him with smarts, but Hercules? Probably not so much.
That smell you're picking up on? That's not The Rock cooking... That there, that's hubris...
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for release May 6, 2016. Whether it'll see The Rock beating the tar out of Superman is a whole other matter...
