Robert Pattinson has been trying to leave his sparkly vampire days behind him, and one way of doing that, it seems, is by starring in even more David Cronenberg dramas.
Today, we get to see him, Mia Wasikowska and Julianne Moore in action in the first trailer for tinsel-town drama, Maps to the Stars. Check it out below:
A dark satire about our celebrity-obsessed culture, Maps to the Stars centers on the Weiss family. Outwardly spectacularly successful, the clan is in fact deeply dysfunctional and full of despair.
Paterfamilias and famous psychoanalyst Dr. Stafford Weiss (John Cusack) made his fortune with self-help books, while his wife Christina (Olivia Williams) is the all-dominating presence in the life of their son Benjie (Evan Bird), a 13-year-old TV soap star, already struggling with a drug addiction. His sister Agatha (Mia Wasikowska) has long been estranged from the family. Just released from a mental institution, she befriends a limo driver (Robert Pattinson) who also happens to be an aspiring actor…
There certainly seems to be a lot going on in this flick, and it'll be interesting to see whether this could further solidify Pattinson's post-Twilight career.
Maps to the Stars will be releasing in various countries from around September this year. However, so far there is no US release date set.
