What do 'The Fault in Our Stars', 'The Stand' and 'Lestat' have in common? A director!

By ⋅ Posted on

I'm typically a big fan of horror news that makes me uncomfortable...but this...I'm not sure if I like this kind of uncomfortable.

Warner Bros. has booked the director of The Fault In Our Stars to helm the three-hour adaptation of Stephen King's "The Stand," which, if you've seen the original miniseries, anything would be an improvement, but it still gives me that initial nervous no-no feeling.

Taking notes from Warner Bros, Universal has announced that it wants Josh Boone to try his hand at one of the velvet gloves of the goth world...Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Boone is reportedly in early talks to write and direct Lestat a reboot of the Anne Rice book series. According to sources, the film will draw upon the books 'Queen of the Damned' and 'The Vampire Lestat.'

REALLY - we couldn't even go for something different? Memnoch the Devil or Blood and Gold too much to take?

Now this..makes me an entirely different kind of uncomfortable. I know that not everyone loved what went on in Queen of the Damned or Interview with the Vampire.

News like this makes me nervous for Lestat. How does it make YOU feel?
