Now, Guardians of the Galaxy has already been a rich source of Easter eggs and subtle teasers - director James Gunn packed the movie full near to bursting with countless references to the cosmic half of the Marvel Universe, after all - but, almost six months after its initial release, a lot of us had given up hope of finding any more.

And yet, if Guardians taught us anything, it's that you should never stop believing (or make a deal with Peter Quill) - especially since Gunn pointed out a few months back that:

"There's definitely one really big thing that people haven't seen, but they may never see it..."

Flash forward to this week, though, and...

Someone's Step-Dad Totally Just Found the Final Guardians Easter Egg

And Groot will now fry it with a little bacon...
And Groot will now fry it with a little bacon...

Yup, that's right - Imgur user FusRoDuuh has just revealed that one lone Marvel fan - and their step-dad - may just have found that final missing 'Egg.

And it was right under our noses the whole time...

Remember The Collector?

As played so memorably by Benicio Del Toro, The Collector (or, rather, his collection) has proved to be an absolute goldmine of teaser-y goodness.

And, now, it seems, it's revealed one more...

Y'see, there's something a little odd hiding in that there image above...

Yup, that's a distinctly humanoid figure, with only three fingers (and the traditional thumb).

Now, there are a whole lot of alien races in the Marvel Universe who only have three fingers - but for the most part, they're all a little...space-alieny, rather than remotely human-like.

There is, though, a Marvel hero who fits the bill pretty much perfectly - as FusRoDuuh's step-dad points out...

Ladies and Gentlemen, Meet Longshot

A genetically-engineered stunt-man from another dimension, Longshot is one of those superheroes who's never quite managed to be considered cool - and so has faded from the public view into the backwater of comic-book obscurity known as the '80s.

He was, though, for a while, a key member of the X-Men, and - crucially - has just three fingers...

Which means, if the incredibly observant step-father in question is correct, Longshot probably just appeared in the MCU...

The only problem? His rights are most likely owned by Fox, seeing as he was principally one of the X-Men...

So, NOBODY TELL FOX ABOUT THIS, right?

We don't want to get James Gunn in trouble...

Either way, though - that's some pretty epic-sleuthing there, FusRoDaah's step-father...Nicely played...

What do you guys think, though? Is that Longshot in that tank, or someone else entirely? Have you spotted any other Easter eggs we've all missed?
