DC announced "DC Rebirth" at WonderCon 2016, and it was full of new costumes and characters galore! But one character announcement stood out, and it's that of the villain Godspeed. So, who is he and what do we know about him? Find out below!
Who Is Godspeed?
Spoiler alert: There will be spoilers for Godspeed's storyline below!
One of the biggest announcements to come from WonderCon 2016 was the revamp of DC Comics, titled Rebirth. Among a load of other information, a new villain was introduced into The Flash comics: Godspeed. Godspeed DC is another speedster gone wrong in the Flashverse, having even been trained by Barry Allen himself.
Godspeed bares a striking resemblance to Zoom and is described as a "killer." The new Flash title is written by Joshua Williamson with art by Carmine Di Giandomenico and Neil Googe.

Newsrama had a small description of the title and synopsis:
Williamson said a Speed Force storm shows up over Central City, and there are dozens of new speedsters. Barry Allen has to train them. One in particular becomes a killer called Godspeed. The Flash cover featured the New 52 version of Wally West in some type of Kid Flash costume.
While some fans were less than impressed as the Flashverse already has plenty of evil speedsters, others were very excited for this new villain. He's like the Anakin to Barry Allen's Obi-Wan, and that could really shake things up!
And indeed, shake things up he did. Here's where the big spoilers kick in, so turn back now if you don't want to know who Godspeed is!
Still here? OK! After Barry Allen puts himself full force into the investigation of the deaths of speedsters around Central City, he discovers that Godspeed is none other than Detective August Heart, his top protege and good friend. Ouch!
Will Godspeed Appear In The Flash TV Show?
No word on if this new villain will ever make an appearance on the show on The CW, but you never know, as long as it stays on air long enough! Also, The Flash film isn't slated to come out until 2018, so if the villain gets popular enough there's definitely an opportunity there!
Update: Tom Felton (of Harry Potter fame) has been cast as a character called Julian Dorn on the CW show. His character description is eerily similar to that of August Heart, so watch out for that one when the show comes back on October 4th!
