We don't know too much about the hotly anticipated Blade Runner sequel film, but thanks to a recent announcement we are getting a better look at the cast. Alcon Entertainment have announced this week that actress Mackenzie Davis is the latest star to join the growing cast list.

Davis is likely most memorable for her roles as Mindy Park in Ridley Scott's The Martian, Cameron Howe in the AMC series Halt and Catch Fire and Chelsea in That Awkward Moment.

Like many other details of the Blade Runner sequel, 29-year-old's role in the film is unknown at the moment. However we do no that she will join an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Harrison Ford who we do know will be reprising the role of Rick Deckard from the original 1982 Blade Runner.

Denis Villeneuve is set to take over from Ridley Scott as the director for the yet-to-be titled sequel, which will be set decades after the events of the first film. The sequel has been written by Michael Green and Hampton Fancher (who co-wrote the original with David Peoples).

Blade Runner 2 is set to be released on October 6, 2017
