First as her coach, then her friend, Adam Levine has stepped up to help Christina Grimmie and her family in a major way, following the former Voice contestant's tragic murder this past weekend.

This morning, via his Facebook page, the singer's brother Marcus Grimmie expressed the outpouring of support Christina's fans and friends have provided since her passing on June 11:

I first heard from my sisters manager, Brian Teefey, that he will be making a gofundme to help our family move out of our current house and to take care of the funeral, and I figured why not, and I'm not about sharing that kind of stuff and I'm not a fan of handouts at all.

I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away. Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k. Words cannot express...literally I have no words.

I promise both my parents and I will read every one of these personalized messages. I'm so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten.

Love you Christina

Even as the GoFundMe page created in Christina's honor soars past the $160,000 donation mark, it's Levine's offer to pay for Christina's funeral and fly her mother to the service that most pulls at the heartstrings. Since Grimmie's death — at a meet-and-greet with fans in Orlando, Florida — Levine has been vocal about his grief and his love and admiration for the 22-year-old whom he mentored in Season 6 of the TV talent show.

Following a weekend of senseless acts of violence, it's encouraging to see people band together in these small but significant ways.
