On June 12, 2016, the world lost a voice acting legend. Janet Waldo, who gave a voice to many popular cartoon characters from the 60s until the late 90s, died of an inoperable brain tumor at the age of 96.

In her honor, we remember her most beloved roles:

1. Princess, Battle Of The Planets

In Battle Of The Planets, the Western re-dub of classic Anime series Gatchaman, Janet provided the voice of Princess, the sole female member of G-Force.

2. Penelope Pitstop, Wacky Races, and The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop

Janet provided the voice of Penelope Pitstop in both Wacky Races, and it's spin off, The Perils Of Penelope Pitstop. She later reprised the role in a number of Wacky Races video games.

3. Josie, Josie And The Pussycats

Waldo voiced Josie, the lead singer of a mystery solving band, in this Hanna Barbera series. She returned to the role in the sequel series, Josie And The Pussycats In Outer Space, as well as a crossover with Hanna-Barbera's other most famous mystery solvers in an episode of The New Scooby Doo Movies.

4. Cindy Bear, Yogi Bear

Janet voiced Yogi's beloved Girlfriend, Cindy, in the popular holiday special Yogi's First Christmas, and the later series, Yogi's Treasure Hunt.

5. Judy Jetson, The Jetsons

In possibly her most popular role, Janet gave a voice to oldest Jetson child, Judy. She reprised her role for Jetsons: The Movie in 1990, but her lines were dubbed over by pop star Tiffany before the film was released. This was an extremely unpopular decision by critics and fans alike.

Rest In Peace, Janet Waldo. You will live on forever in the beloved characters to whom you gave a voice.
