Star-Lord fans rejoice, with just day left on production of [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2](tag:1081113), the film will soon head into post-production, meaning we're one step closer to getting the sequel in theaters. Celebratory dance off, anyone?
To celebrate filming wrapping up, director James Gunn has shared the final look at a storyboard image with fans online.
The image seems to show the silhouettes of Star-Lord, Rocket and Baby Groot, similar to the promo images we've already seen released. Check it out:
But just before you go thinking that Gunn has revealed the last shot of the film, don't worry. The director took to the comment section to confirm that the storyboard image he posted was definitely not the final scene from the movie.
Aside from the storyboard image, Gunn also posted that both Dave Bautista (Drax) and Michael Rooker (Yondu) had also wrapped on the film:
He also posted a shot of a pottle of Play-Doh that he has ready to give out to Chris Pratt upon wrapping.
The gift of Play-Doh became a sort of inside joke and motivation tool during filming of the first Guardians film when Gunn began giving out jars to cast and crew who performed exceptionally during any given day of filming. Apparently the jars became highly-coveted, and obviously the tradition was so beloved that it had to return for the second film.
In addition to director James Gunn, all of the main cast from the original film returned for the sequel, and have been joined by newcomers including Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki and Pom Klementieff. Plot details for the film are still being closely guarded, with the official synopsis only revealing that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 "continues the team's adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill's true parentage."
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released in cinemas on May 5, 2017.
