One Of The Most Successful Musicals Of All Time Is Being Adapted Into A Musical Film

Wicked: The Untold Story Of The Witches Of Oz has been scheduled to be released as a Musical Film adaptation in 2019. The musical will be told from the perspective of Glinda who is the good witch and Elphaba who is the Wicked Witch who it seems is killed by Dorothy, who ends up throwing water on her towards the end of 'The Wizard of Oz'. The 2019 Musical Film will begins before and carries on before Dorothy arrives.

Wicked first premiered on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre back in 2003. Ever since then, the story has been made into numerous productions across the world. It also smashed the box office records across the globe. As you read this, Wicked holds a weekly box office record in Los Angeles and in London. The production in the West End and North America has been watched by over two million people.

Making Wicked into a film has been discussed numerous times and various directors have been drawn into this project with a lot of major names wanting to star in the production. Nothing had ever been confirmed that it was going to happen until now. Universal Pictures have spoken out to the world and have confirmed Wicked will be hitting the big screen near you in 2019. Stephen Daldry will be directing the production.
