James Gunn has officially confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to be making an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con this year. Gunn made the announcement yesterday in a live video on his Facebook, which starts off with him praising Chris Pratt for what he has done with the franchise and announcing that it was his last day of filming.

You can watch the clip below:

It is exciting to hear that Marvel Studios will return to San Diego Comic-Con after their absence last year. Doctor Strange will also be heading to Comic-Con and will likely deliver a brand new full length trailer. With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Gunn announced that they will be debuting the movie's first teaser trailer.

What Should We Expect from the Teaser Trailer?

When we received our first look at Guardians of the Galaxy at Comic-Con back in 2013, we saw a 30-second clip of a bunch of different scenes from the movie and then at the end, we saw a shot of the whole team. Watch the leaked clip below:

I'm expecting something similar to that clip with one big reveal at the end. However, I'm expecting it to be more than 30 seconds, possibly 90 seconds. There are so many different things that Marvel could include in this teaser trailer and that I want to see. Of course, I would love to see a glimpse of Thanos, but that's unrealistic. So, what are some of the things I hope Marvel could include in the teaser trailer?

The Original Crew

Seeing Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Racoon, Drax, and Groot in the teaser trailer is essential. We need at least one shot of each of the characters individually and one team shot in the beginning. Star-Lord could say something like "The Guardians are here" as they walk slow-motion into a room and all start attacking a bunch of men. Pretty simple and straight forward.

Also, at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy, we see that Groot is a baby with some groovy dance moves. In the promotional piece for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we see a tiny Groot standing on Drax's shoulder and holding his ear. He has grown since the last time we saw him and by the end of the second film, he should return to his regular size. In the trailer, it would be awesome to see a tiny Groot throwing henchmen across the room. That would be the highlight of the trailer.

Yondu and the Ravangers

Yondu and the Ravagers are returning for the next installment in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. It's unknown what role they will play in the film, which makes it even more of a reason to want to see them in this teaser trailer.

Yondu was for sure one of the best characters from the first film and to see his familiar face once again would be great. Also, it would be even more awesome if we got a glimpse at Sylvester Stallone's character, who is one of the Ravagers.

The Main Villain

No. The main villain is not Thanos... unfortunately
No. The main villain is not Thanos... unfortunately

It is unknown who the main villain is in the upcoming sequel. What better way to introduce the villain than to reveal it at Comic-Con, where all the sweaty nerds who will know who the villain is are located?

Even if it isn't shoved in our faces, we should at least get a tease, similar to what they did in the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, where we see a dark cloaked figure bow down in front of a bacta tank. Who the villain will end up being is anyone's guess.

Mantis

The Guardians of the Galaxy are getting a new addition to the team: Mantis, who is being played by Pom Klementieff. Not a lot more information has been revealed about the character and her role in the film to date.

Star-Lord Meeting His Father

This is what I hope the big reveal will be. Star-Lord meets his father and it would be an important yet hilarious and awkward moment that would get everyone taking about this movie. Like the main villain, we don't know who Peter Quill's father is.
