WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Season 6 of Game of Thrones. If you're not up to date, then I suggest you stop reading now. If you are up to date then please keep reading — you're in the great game now!

Game of Thrones left us with an amazing penultimate episode to chew on as we eagerly await the season finale. In "Battle of the Bastards" we saw an onslaught of epic proportions as Jon Snow went head to head with Ramsay Bolton, while over in Meereen Daenerys took back what is hers (on dragon's back — it was awesome). But now we're at the finale and things are only going to continue to heat up. Take a look at the preview below.

As excited as I am for the finale, I feel my nerves creeping up as I start to wonder which mighty character will meet their maker in the super-extended episode. Let's take a look at some of the options.

Tommen

Sweet, naive Tommen has a lot to answer for. While he is arguably the nicest character on the show, he's a little too nice — and too naive — for the land of Westeros. While Margaery likely has a cunning plan in store for the High Sparrow, Tommen appears to be enthralled by the preacher and completely beholden to everything he has to say.

Tommen has allowed his mother Cersei and wife Margaery to be humiliated, and now he has removed Cersei's chances of her desired trial by combat. Certainly Tommen will have to pay for what he's done, whether at the hands of the Mountain and his mother, or perhaps the High Sparrow. Hopefully neither of these options will come to fruition, but this is Game of Thrones we're talking about.

Melisandre

The Red Priestess can't seem to catch a break. For years she was painted as a dark, sinister character who had ulterior motives, and then the Shireen incident caused the fandom to launch an outright attack on her. Miraculously, the character saw somewhat of a redemption this season when she became a bit of a fan favorite after resurrecting Jon Snow. However, this happiness could be short-lived, as Davos — who was essentially Shireen's surrogate father — has discovered the truth.

With Melisandre now on Davos's radar, could she be the next one feeling the heat? Remember, we've still a lot to learn about this mysterious character — the shocking revelation about her age earlier in the season means that there is so much storyline still left unturned — and we need to discover what power she possesses before it's too late.

The High Sparrow

The Faith storyline has been one of my absolute favorites that the show has ever covered and while I would be sad to see it end, I feel that it's working toward its conclusion. Also, the High Sparrow must pay for what he forced Margaery, Loras and Cersei to endure. With the Mountain by Cersei's side, I think the Sparrow is likely to be the next one condemned for his sins. Forget the walk of atonement, he'll be lucky if he still has his skull by the end of the season.

Loras

Poor Loras has barely had any screen time this season. If my memory serves, he's had one scene, which consisted of him begging his sister to make his punishment stop. Now that Loras is to stand trial, I can't help but feel it could be the end for him. Having said that, Margaery is so obviously concocting a plan behind the Sparrow's back, and this plan only arose following her visit with Loras, so perhaps she'll strike when the Sparrow least expects it, saving her brother in the process.

It would be a shame for Loras to die — he's often had some of the best scenes in the series. Let's hope Margaery will act before it's too late.

And thus I leave you with your own thoughts to ponder: Who will be the unlucky people to meet their maker come the season finale of Game of Thrones? Remember, it's an extended episode this week, so there is plenty of room for death. I shudder at the mere thought of it.

Do you think Margaery will save her brother from judgment? Do you think Cersei will exact revenge on the High Sparrow? Tell me in the comment section below.
