It looks like triangular muscle-man Mike O'Hearn has competition for playing the titular role in the new adaptation of cult series He-Man Masters of the Universe.

When the insanely ripped body builder-cum-model was cast to play an unknown part in the upcoming movie, whether it be He-Man himself or one of his scantily clad, be-pecked, heroic adventurers, unsurprisingly interest in the '80s phenomenon boomed as a consequence. Yet the excitement for O'Hearn is perhaps a little premature if Twilight star, Kellan Lutz's latest tweet is anything to go by:

For those of you unfamiliar with Lutz, you'll probably know him better as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight franchise, George Evans in TV series 90210, or of course, Hercules in 2014's The Legend of Hercules:

While Lutz isn't as ripped as the borderline inhuman O'Hearn, there are obviously a bunch of characters the 31-year-old actor could star as, such as Battle Cat or Man-At Arms, yet the emoticons accompanying his tweet indicate that he's to helm the project.

Regardless, if the workout vids he shares to Instagram are anything to go by, it won't be long before Lutz is truly ready to master the universe in some shape or form.

Who do you think would be the perfect He-Man?
