Have you heard the hot rumor of the week? Controversial clown Jared Leto is currently in London, according to the actor/singer's personal Snapchat and fan sightings in the heart of England.

Why do we care about that? Well, I think we all know by now about Leto's casting as the DC Extended Universe's Joker — the iconic foil to DC's Batman. Leto makes his debut as the Clown Prince of Crime in this summer's Suicide Squad, landing August 5. But his complex history with Batman makes it inevitable that the two will be crossing paths at some point.

So, what's Batman (Ben Affleck) up to? Well, the Justice League movie is currently filming in London. Movie Pilot's own Kit Simpson Browne was lucky enough to visit the set recently, so check out 10 huge things we just learned on the Justice League set for the hot gossip on what's going on behind the scenes.

You see where we're going with this? Does Jared Leto + London + Justice League filming = a Joker cameo in Justice League Part One?

Well, maybe. According to Leto's aforementioned Snapchat account, he's currently traveling Europe on vacation, so it could just be that this is a personal pit-stop he's taking. But what if it isn't? Could we see the Joker appearing in Justice League?

Why We'll See A Joker Cameo In Justice League

It wouldn't be the wildest plot twist for the DCEU to throw our way, having Joker pop up somewhere along the way in Justice League. The details of Leto's contract with DC and Warner Bros. have not yet been made public, but it's safe to assume that they wouldn't use a character as huge as the Joker in just a one-off capacity.

The Suicide Squad promo material thus far has suggested that we're going to see Joker and Batman throw down as least once — likely via flashbacks in the lead up to Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) going to prison — but given that Ben Affleck's role in Suicide Squad is expected to be minimal, it's highly likely that we'll see Batman versus Joker proper at some point further down the line.

This is especially likely if you put stock in the rumors that the solo Batman movie is going to be an adaptation of the "Batman: Under the Hood" storyline of 2005–2006, which saw the long-dead Jason Todd/Robin returning to life as antihero Red Hood.

Because — as is well known by now — it was Joker who was responsible for Jason's death, and the "Ha ha ha! Joke's on you Batman" scrawled on the Robin suit in [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870)'s Batcave suggests that this storyline has been carried over to the DCEU.

A Joker cameo in Justice League could very well set up the Batman solo feature, perhaps we'll finally find out what happened to the DCEU Robin in a Batman-flashback sequence?

Why We Won't See A Joker Cameo In Justice League

Well, this is Justice League, not Batman. Batman and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) have already got a lot to deal with in Justice League — from introducing Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa), to dealing with central villain Steppenwolf.

And of course there's the big Superman (Henry Cavill) question: How is he going to come back to life following the events of [Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice](tag:711870)? Cause even though Batman set out to assemble the Justice League team in the wake of Superman's death, we know the big blue schoolboy isn't gonna be kept down for long. He's Superman, it's what he does.

Of course, this is currently just speculation and rumor. It could just be a coincidence that Leto is in London at the same time as the Justice League movie is being filmed. And if it were such a secret, it's unlikely that he'd be broadcasting his location on social media. Besides, he's already cut off those green locks.

So, maybe this is just wishful thinking, but we can't wait to see more of the DCEU's Batman, and it's looking like Leto is going to make a pretty good Joker when Suicide Squad rolls around next month. So, if it did turn out he'd be appearing in Justice League, we'd be just fine with that. What do you think?

Justice League is set for a November 17, 2017 release.
