It's only been about six months since we first heard talk of an 8th installment of Saw, to be titled Saw Legacy, and six years since we had our last Saw experience in theaters with Saw 3D: The Final Chapter. With the 10th anniversary of Saw III coming this October, it seems appropriate to revisit Saw Legacy as some potentially exciting news has come to light. Not only is the film actually happening, but it's happening a lot sooner than we might have thought.

Here's the information we have on Saw Legacy, as according to IATSE 873, a technical union based in Toronto:

Tricycle Productions Canada Inc.
20 Butterick Rd
Toronto, M8W 3Z8

Producers: Dan Heffner & Oren Koules
Production Manager: Kym Crepin
Production Coordinator: Anne Paynter
Production Designer: Tony Cowley
Production Type: International Low Budget Theatrical Agreement
Production Dates: September 12, 2016 – October 21, 2016

Dan Heffner and Oren Koules are definitely no strangers to the Saw franchise as they've produced all seven existing films. Obviously there is no director set yet, nor do we have cast members announced, but I would imagine with a September start date listed, all of that will be coming in very short order.

In case you're nervous about the credibility of the production list that Saw Legacy is listed in, other productions listed on the IATSE 873 site include It, Man Seeking Woman, Shadowhunters, 12 Monkeys, Reign, American Gothic, and Suits. Whether we like it or not, there is more Saw coming.
