The best thing about fan art is that it expresses a hope for something great to happen: whether it be a movie or the role of a lifetime for the artist's favorite actor or actress.

Some of my favorite fan posters have been just imaginings of what could have been. I definitely would have wanted to see a biopic of Walt Disney starring Ryan Gosling. But not until Pascal Witaszek realized it in a perfect poster image would have I dared to dream and hope for it.

If he can dream it why can't Hollywood do it?

After the death of David Bowie I mourned the fact that there would probably never be a Labyrinth 2. At least there is Ruben Ireland's great gray scale poster to provide some cold comfort.

Without Bowie could this sequel ever be great?

Lately Power Ranger fans have been morphing Bryan Cranston into all kinds of crazy Zordon imagery. Cranston himself has been sparking the Power Ranger frenzy with quotes that he thinks that the reboot could be potentially a Batman: Dark Knight type of game changer.

“I wasn’t really high on it until I talked to the producer and read the script and talked to the director. After that I went, ‘This is different.’” He continued, “This is as different a reimagining as the ‘Batman’ television series as it became the ‘Batman’ movie series. You can’t compare those two, and nor can you compare this movie version of the ‘Power Rangers’ to that television series. It’s unrecognizable for the most part. There are tenets of the folklore that you hold onto for sure, but the inspiration is different, and the sensibility of it, and the approach to the film making is completely different, Cranston commented in a Huffington Post interview."
Can the Rangers reboot be a Dark Knight classic?

Cranston's has serious acting ability, as proven by his Oscar nomination for Trumbo. And no, Zordon will not be the role he will be remembered for.

But there is another mastermind Cranston would be perfect for. That mastermind has created an empire that rules the comic and cinematic universes --- and most of the posts here on Moviepilot. While everyone is eager about what will happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe perhaps we should be excited about what can be created in the exploration of the real Stan Lee Universe.

Could Lee be Cranston's most iconic role?

This imagined poster for a Stan Lee biopic is a great example on how a fan can stumble on to something great. It was created by Cranston and Lee fan entertainmeweakly.

Think about it. Cranston and Lee have a lot in common: a maverick sensibility, a winning persona and a brilliant mind. If Disney were to do this supposed Lee biopic, than Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and every other Marvel Cinematic character iteration could pop in with their own Stan Lee style cameos.

Some times the best way to rule the universe is to create it.
