Although we've still got months left until Fox's psychological horror series The Exorcist premieres on the small screen on September 23, the studio is upping the intrigue with the release of three small promo videos.

The series takes inspiration from William Blatty's 1971 novel The Exorcist and the '73 iconic movie of the same name, though its premise deviates from the narrative we all know so well. Alfonso Herrera (Demon Inside) and Ben Daniels (Flesh and Bone) star as two priests enlisted to tackle a family's case of demonic possession. Oscar winning actress Gene Davis joins as the family's matriarch, accompanied by Alan Ruck, Brianne Howey, Hannah Kasulka and Kurt Egyiawan.

While the news of any classic film being turned into a number-grabbing TV series makes our hair stand on end more than most horror movies could, the three videos released show that there are enough of the key ingredients here to make something successful. Scared priests? Tick. Possessed growls? Tick. Creepy, dark house? Tick. Tubular bells? Tick!
