As the DC Extended Universe continues its momentum Suicide Squad, the studio looks ahead at next year with its upcoming superhero films. Not only will 2017 see the release of Justice League but next summer will feature none other than Wonder Woman. The Amazon Princess made her cinematic debut this year in Batman v.Superman: Dawn of Justice, but the iconic heroine will be featured in her own adventure next June; and then return later that year in Justice League. The blockbuster will be a major feature for Warner Bros at this year's Comic-Con, so fans can expect a lot of details about Wonder Woman sooner rather than later. However moviegoers can idea of what to expect from the upcoming blockbuster as Warner Bros has released the first synopsis to the superhero film.

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

If you are familiar with the story of Wonder Woman, then this synopsis may not surprise you. By looking at the details given in this synopsis, it seems that Wonder Woman will stick closely to the story that so many interpretations have done in the past. While this plot may not present anything new from the character, fans may be eager to see that Wonder Woman is sticking close to its source. Though the synopsis gives viewers the right idea of what to expect in the film, it also seems vague in its details. Aside from Wonder Woman fighting in World War I the synopsis gives moviegoers little to no information on particular details such as whom the villain of the film will be. While details such as the movie's baddie will likely be revealed next week at Comic-Con it is just as likely that WB and DC want to keep details about Wonder Woman a secret-which seems to continue the trend seen in the studios' recent marketing for their superhero movies.

The synopsis for Wonder Woman reveals expected details about the movie, but that is not to say this information is unwanted. These story details may not present a new take on the Amazonian Princess, but it does show that the filmmakers are attempting to keep true to the tale of Wonder Woman. Plus, with Comic-Con on the horizon, there will likely be more information on this upcoming blockbuster sooner rather than later. In any case the new details about Wonder Woman shows potential for the superhero flick as this expected plot synopsis could very well lead to an authentic blockbuster on the classic superheroine.

Wonder Woman hits theaters on June 2, 2017.
