There's still quite a long time coming (pun intended) until the release of Spider-Man: Homecoming on July 7, 2017 — and it's just one of the movies we can't wait to see next year. The biggest highlight, obviously, is the performance by Tom Holland, whose Spider-Man we already got a look at in Captain America: Civil War. Following in the (big) footsteps of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, his semi-chatty, semi-nervous portrayal has been acclaimed by many as the best Spider-Man yet.

While very few plot elements have been disclosed so far, we already know that Homecoming will be set in high school, giving us an early look at Peter Parker's life before he goes off fighting the big bad villains we know from the comics. That also means we're not going to see much of Peter's many romances — except maybe for Michelle Gonzales, whom Zendaya appears to be playing. But did you know Peter Parker had quite the love life? While it wasn't as rocky as say, Tony Stark's, he's clearly a romantic.

Take a look at some of his most important girlfriends here, and read on for five more you might have just forgotten all about.

Liz Allan

Elizabeth "Liz" Allan, whose name is sometimes spelled as Allen, is a high school crush of Peter's, but they never dated. In school, she was with Flash Thompson, and when she reappeared years later, she ended up marrying Harry Osborn. Maybe we'll get a nod to her character in Homecoming!

Michele Gonzales

Actress and singer Zendaya is listed on the IMDb page for Homecoming as Michelle, which obviously leads our minds to jump to Michele Gonzales. The older sister of Peter's roommate, Vin Gonzales, she's a lawyer and gives Peter quite a hard time on their first meeting. Things get awkward when they have sex and it turns out it was the Chameleon in the shape of Peter. Still, they reconcile just before she goes back to Chicago.

Kitty Pryde

Kitty Pryde is an exception on this list, as she only becomes infatuated with Spidey in the Ultimate Marvel Universe — but it's quite amazing that he even got it on with the X-Men, and it keeps on fueling our dreams of more superhero crossovers in the movies.

Anna Maria Marconi

Anna Maria Marconi is Spider-Man's girlfriend while he's possessed by Dr. Octopus, meeting him at Empire State University and believing he's Peter Parker. Still, she has no hard feelings once the truth comes out, and the two remain good friends.

Cindy Moon

Marvel Comics

Cindy Moon, a.k.a. Silk, is a heroine with powers equivalent to Peter's, as they both got bitten by the same spider. He becomes aware of her existence during a flashback, but although they feel a strong connection based on the similarity of their experience, they never really become an item.

Which of Peter Parker's relationships would you love to see on screen?
