Suicide Squad is just three weeks away, and it looks like DC's team of bad guys could make massive money at the box office.
The film is projected to gross around $125 million, with some figures going as high as $140 million. That would fall between Man of Steel's $116 million debut in 2013 and Batman v Superman's $166 million this past March.
Assuming the numbers hold steady, Suicide Squad will also set the record for biggest August opening of all time, beating out the $94.3 million record set by Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy back in 2014. The film could also set a new career-high for it's biggest star, Will Smith, out pacing the $77 million opening of 2007's I Am Legend.
Suicide Squad's suspected success will also help aid what's been a relatively weak summer at the box office, marked by critical and commercial flops from big sequels like Independence Day: Resurgence and Alice Through the Looking Glass.
Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, and you can buy advance tickets beginning on July 15. Are you excited for DC's upcoming release? Let me know in the comments.
