Fans of The CW's The Flash were definitely excited to hear that actress Violett Beane would reprise her role as Jesse for Season 3. After all, if you know anything about the character's comic book history, then you know that she eventually becomes a superhero speedster herself — meaning Beane might get the chance to don her own costume in Season 3.
Earlier today, Movie Pilot went live with Violett Beane at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 for a look at what's coming next on The Flash and to get her take on all the superhero action headed to The CW.
Before joining the series, Beane was pretty unfamiliar with comic books. In fact, she initially didn't know what character she was auditioning to play on the show. As the actress recalled:
"I had known that I was auditioning for 'The Flash' but they didn't tell me the character. I basically auditioned [as] this girl named Claire, and she was a crime scene investigator nerd. So I had no idea what I was doing."
After booking the gig, producers revealed that Beane would be playing Jesse, and the actress began to research the character and dive into her comic history. We talked to Beane about her potential future as a speedster, her favorite comic book heroes and the possibility of seeing Batman and the characters of Fox's Gotham appearing in the Flarrowverse. Check out the video above for all the goodness!
