Warning: Hello, friend. You probably know why you're here, but if you don't, then let me remind you that this article contains major spoilers from Season 2, Episode 5 of Mr. Robot. If you haven't caught up then I'd advise you return to the previous page. I trust you.

After four weeks of extended Mr. Robot episodes, the hit series returned to an admirable 50 minute length for it's fifth installment this season. The shortened length didn't affect the story though, as the drama just kept on coming.

Last week saw Elliot give in to Mr. Robot and agreed to go back to Fsociety, Darlene became concerned about Operation Berenstain and, as result, Elliot said he would hack the FBI! Things took a turn this week, so lets take a look at what you might have missed in "eps2.3_logic-b0mb.hc."

1. Elliot: The Vigilante

Doing the right thing is important to Elliot.
Doing the right thing is important to Elliot.

Elliot has always had the best of intentions — Fsociety was derived from his hatred for money-grabbing conglomerate corporations like E-Corp. Lately though, it's felt as if he's no longer interested in being the "good" guy, he just wants a normal life — free of Mr. Robot's control. However, we finally saw glimmers of Elliot's good nature return this week — he was disgusted at Ray's illegal marketplace website and refused to sit back and do nothing.

Although it's a detour from the main arc, its nice to Elliot fighting for what he believes in — mental issues or not, he's got a good heart and we do appreciate seeing him smile every once in a while. However, as admirable as his good will is, this path led him to a beating at the hands of Ray — his so-called friend — but if anything that's going to motivate him even further to take Ray and his illegal website down once and for all.

2. Our Faith Is Almost Restored In Angela

Angela finally proved herself this week and met up with Elliot for the first time since she joined E-Corp. The pair hit it off like the best of friends they are and — although it'll help her too — she agreed to help Elliot and Darlene intercept the FBI so they can begin their hack.

Angela's motives have been somewhat questionable this season, but it appears that there is still some good nature in her and hopefully that will continue. By the end of the episode, Darlene introduced her to the core members of Fsociety. Perhaps Angela hasn't strayed too far down the wrong path after all.

3. Dominique: The Most Interesting Character

FBI agent or something more?
FBI agent or something more?

Elliot is the heart and soul of Mr. Robot. There is no doubt about that. When he's absent for a large portion of the episode, the show suffers. Having said that, I have to admit that Dominque is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. I know guys, she's on the opposing side and I shouldn't be rooting for her — yet I am. I can't help it: The ambiguity surrounding her character interests me, and Grace Gummer is fantastic in the role. Having been familiar with her work before in American Horror Story and Smash, it's great to see her playing a totally different character here.

It's been made clear to us in past episodes that Dom also suffers from social anxiety — perhaps the most interesting thing is that she's not that different from Elliot. Think about it for a second. She knows her stuff, she's smart enough to have figured out Fsociety's former base of operations and she struggles with anxiety. Perhaps Dominique is more important to the story than we know — I can't wait to see what happens next with her, that is if she manages to escape the shootout in china!

4. Possibility Of Alternate Realities Confirmed

There have been several theories circulating about Mr. Robot and the possibilities of alternate realities within the show — the mention of an operation called Berenstain last week almost confirmed that this possibility will be explored on the show. However, in the latest episode we had the first mention of alternate realities when Whiterose, who also happens to be China's Minister of State Security, asked Dominique what she thinks the world would look like if the hack never happened — elaborating that some people believe an alternate reality is playing out that scenario.

"Have you ever wondered how the world would look if the 5/9 hack never happened? How the world would look right now? in fact, some believe that there alternate realities playing out that very scenario."

This is a momentous scene for Mr. Robot — it confirms the possibility of alternate realities within the show's narrative. It's also interesting because Whiterose has been obsessed with time since her first appearance. This leads me to believe that Whiterose is the key to any possible alternate realities.

A slower installment of Mr. Robot but important nonetheless. Things are definitely set to pick up in the next episode as we find out Elliot's and Dominique's fate. I find myself more interested in Dominique who was the MVP of this week's episode — there is definitely more to her than meets the eye. Who knows where the storylines will lead? Until next week, friend.
