Amy Adams has some fantastic roles under her belt. She's played Lois Lane in the recent Superman movies, a real-life Disney Princess in Enchanted, and aviation legend Amelia Earhart in Night at the Museum 2. We also loved her in The Fighter — heck, she's even worked with the Muppets! Arguably one of Hollywood's most underrated actresses, with a wealth of experience in many genres of movies, she's still not managed to get herself an Oscar. Well, with her new movies and TV project, I can only hope Adams gets the recognition she deserves.

We take a look now at what's next in store from Miss Adams:

1. Disenchanted

Release date: TBA

That's right! Start celebrating! Disney has announced there is to be an Enchanted sequel. Amy Adams has signed on to play everyone's favorite doe-eyed princess, Giselle. The project is being kept top secret for now, but we can only hope that it's just as brilliant as the first. Maybe she'll have a baby or get a job? No doubt Giselle shall end up saving the day once more. But you know what this means? Plenty of singing, dancing and dress-making from Adams.

2. Arrival

Release date: November 11, 2016

The arrival of a new alien invasion movie is imminent. We see Adams play an expert linguist hired by the military to uncover what purpose the aliens have for visiting Earth. Amy's last encounter with aliens was with Superman, but we doubt these aliens will be quite so dashing. The movie has an estimated budget of $50 million, so we're expecting a fully engrossing cinematic experience. Forest Whitaker stars alongside Adams, as does Jeremy Renner, her American Hustle co-star. A definite one to look out for for sci-fi fans.

3. Nocturnal Animals

Release date: December 9, 2016

Amy Adams stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Armie Hammer and Isla Fisher. With one hell of a sexy cast and one very sexy director (Tom Ford), this novel adaptation is highly anticipated. The story sees a gallery owner who is haunted by her ex-husband's novel. She feels the novel poses a warning of a threat, a promise of revenge. Dark tones come from this story within a story. This is the first movie fashion god Tom Ford has directed since his debut, A Single Man, which was greeted with critical acclaim, so hopefully good things lie in ahead.

4. Sharp Objects

Release date: 2017

This is for you if you loved Gone Girl — and let's face it, who didn't? This adaptation of the novel by Gillian Flynn sees journalist Camille Preacher returning to her dead-end hometown following a series of murders of young girls. Camille has a difficult relationship with her mother and is only able to unearth the truth by confronting her past. There are twists and turns in abundance and some very sick characters that only Flynn can write. We are really looking forward to seeing Adams sink her teeth into the role of Camille. Definitely must-see TV.

5. Justice League

Release date: November 17, 2017

Superhero fans have a sit on their hands for this one. The movie is sadly not set to be released until late next year, but already there is a lot of hype about the film. As superhero universes collide, we get the ultimate fighting team. Amy returns as Lois Lane for the first installment of the Justice League. Notorious comic book director Zack Snyder takes them helm of what looks like a super superhero movie. There are also many huge names in this movie, including Henry Cavil, Ben Affleck, Jared Leto, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons and William Defoe. There are some relatively new faces too, including Jason Momoa play Aquaman and Gal Gadot, who will take on the part of Wonder woman. Start counting down the days, this is one not to miss.

I have absolutely everything crossed for my favorite redhead as she continues to set Hollywood ablaze. If there's any justice in the world, there could be the arrival of an Oscar and if there isn't, we hope she's not too disenchanted.
