Before landing the leading role in Stephanie Meyer's movie adaptation of The Twilight Saga, Robert Pattinson was a relatively unknown British actor who had only been cast in a handful of roles, including that of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Fast forward to early 2010 though and R-Patz was the name of everyone's lips, hunted relentlessly by the hungry paparazzi who monitored every aspect of his professional and personal life. Indeed, at the height of his reign as one of the most coveted vampires in the movie world, his fame skyrocketed to unfathomable heights.
Yet, since his break-out role and a myriad of stellar, art-house projects in Hollywood, it appears that we've somewhat lost sight of what Rob has been up to lately. But don't worry, with 2016 well and truly underway, he's still very much around. Here's a brief run-down of where the actor's at.
Where has Robert Pattinson been in 2016?
1. He's keeping busy with movies
You may have missed it but R-Patz actually had a movie come out this summer. The Childhood of a Leader hit US cinema screens on July 22, 2016, starring the actor in the leading role as Charles.
The mystery horror focuses on the life of a post-World War I leader, with Stacy Martin and Liam Cunningham in accompanying roles. Watch the mystifying and rather unsettling trailer for the feature here:
And that's not all he's been keeping himself busy with on the entertainment front. Robert actually has two other movies set to be unleashed unto the world in the near future — both are currently in post-production. Alongside Good Time, a crime drama that sees him step into the shoes of bank robber Connie, he also has The Lost City of Z in the pipeline.
The latter also stars Tom Holland, Sienna Miller and Charlie Hunnam and takes place way back in 1925, following the story of legendary British explorer Colonel Percival Fawcett and his adventures into the Amazon jungle in pursuit of a hidden civilization. He never makes a return.
The Lost City of Z makes its debut screening on October 15, 2016 at the New York Film Festival.
2. He's in a loving, very private relationship
The media storm surrounding Robert Pattinson's and now ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart's relationship raged on for years. And even recently, K-Stew spoke out about the detrimental effect of the attention. telling The New York Times:
"People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn’t real life anymore. And that was gross to me. It’s not that I want to hide who I am or hide anything I’m doing in my life."
After the love story between our on-screen version of Bella and Edward came to an abrupt halt amid a flurry of cheating allegations on Kristen's part back in 2012, the actor has since found happiness with another lady — British artist FKA Twigs (real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett.)
The two got engaged in April 2015 and are looking to get married sometime in the near future.

3. He's still smoldering as the face of Dior Homme
Following on from his debut with the French fashion house back in February 2016, the actor has continued to appear on billboards all over the world as part of Dior's ready-to-wear autumn 2016 collection. Here he is looking all intense and dapper as the prince of the New York streets in the ad campaign:
4. He's currently filming western 'Damsel'
On top of all of that, and with three movies already under his belt in 2016, the actor is pushing himself even further in a Zellner Brothers' comedy-western. Continuing his penchant for art-house cinema, this time Rob will be taking part in:
"A Western Era comedy about a man trying to marry the woman of his dreams.”
There are currently minimal details floating around surrounding the project but we do know that production began in Utah in mid-July and that Mia Wasikowska is set to star. Watch this space.
