All you Marvel fans out there (or mere comic fans) should probably know about the next upcoming installment in the franchise. Which is Thor: Ragnarok (2017), bringing back our lovable Aussie Chris Hemsworth. Being the third installment for Thor in the MCU, fans everywhere are about to watch a major shift that changed all of Norwegian lore. Well, Marvel's Thor's lore. And of course, with such a big development up in Asgard, we should probably celebrate, in anticipation, by knowing some reasons as to why we should be prepared for Thor: Ragnarok.

1. Taika Waititi Is Directing

Yes, you read that right. Thor: Ragnarok (2017) is set to be directed by the wonderful Taika David Waititi. The New Zealand film, director, writer, and actor has done films such as Eagle vs Shark (2007), Boy (2010), Green Lantern (2011), What We Do In the Shadows (2014), and Hunt for the Wilder People (2016).

I personally really enjoyed What We Do in the Shadows (2014), where he acted as Viago the vampire, who was downright hilarious. The movie itself got a 96 percent from IMDb, where both Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement directed it (and Clement took on the role of vampire Vladislav). Knowing that Waititi is directing this film can reassure audiences that it will have an element of comedy. Interesting how that contrasts the whole idea of Ragnarok.

2. Hulk Is Back

That's right! Banner has finally returned from all that time of self-thought, and me-time. Of course he won't be with Natasha in this film, but all the same, its wonderful to see that green-faced rage monster back on set!

In this film, what we can really expect is for Hulk to be a huge asset when it comes to war. Thankfully, since Waititi is directing, perhaps we can see a more humorous and fun side to the quiet Banner.

3. New Recruits

It seems that as more MCU movies are being created, only more interesting and fantastic actors/actresses are being added to the cast. For Thor: Ragnarok, we are going to be entertained by the likes of:

Karl Urban (Star Trek movies, Dredd, The Bourne Supremacy), as the Executioner

Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, The Fly, Independence Day), as the Grandmaster

Tessa Thompson (Selma, Dear White People, Creed), as Valkyrie

And Cate Blanchett (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Lord of the Rings, Carol), as Hela

Now these four are certainly a strong addition to the group, not to mention their purposes in Ragnarok, which are easily going to make audiences accept them as significant to the MCU!

4. The Movie Is Set To Release On The 3rd Of November, 2017!

OK, so it is set to come out next year, but look at the bright side! There are so many good actors being added to the crew, a great director is on the horizon, and its just bound to be good!

Not only that, but other Marvel films coming out are Spiderman: Homecoming, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! Another great year for us MCU fans!

5. Is The End Near?

That was pretty much a party pooper, I know, but, according to the comics, Ragnarok is a very big event for Thor's storyline, especially for everyone on the planet. Yes, we are faced once again with a life-threatening situation. Ragnarok is basically the end of the world, according to Norse mythology. For Marvel, I think it's the end of Thor.

But, keep in mind that the MCU doesn't always follow the rules of the comics. In fact, they're more like guidelines to be honest (Pirates of the Caribbean reference there). Plus with a hilarious director, we really don't know what will happen during this film!

So, Are You Ready?

You have a year to prepare for this movie, will you be ready when it comes out? Oh, and here's a little something to keep you going:
