October is quickly approaching and with it comes the return of our favorite superhero shows. DC's Legends of Tomorrow's upcoming second season is one of the most anticipated returning shows of the year and The CW have released a new action-packed trailer.

Not only does this new trailer highlight what's in store for our favorite heroes but it gives us a first look at new characters Stargirl and the Reverse Flash. Check it out here:

Pretty awesome, right? The first season of Legends Of Tomorrow ended on a cliffhanger that will lead to the Justice Society of America becoming a mainstay during the second season, but on top of that our favorite heroes will have their own issues to deal with. Let's take a look at the most exciting moments from this epic new trailer.

No More Rules

Our heroes extinguished the Time Masters last season and as a result there is no-one to watch over the timeline anymore. However, we know that Rip Hunter is not one to let things go and in his pursuit of doing the right thing the team are destined to become the Time Masters.

Rip was obsessed with preserving the timeline during the first season to ensure they didn't create a paradox, but will they abide by that rule this time around? We can see in the trailer that Sara argues that there are no more rules since the time masters are no longer a threat. She's correct, but Rip knows that they must continue to travel through time, saving what they can while preserving what they can.

First Look At Stargirl

Last month we learned that Stargirl would be joining Legends Of Tomorrow and that actress Sarah Grey will be the one portraying her. Stargirl's arrival will likely coincide with the arrival of the Justice Society of America as, in the comics, that's what Stargirl is mostly known for. Up until now we were only able to speculate as to what she may look like — now, we can see her in action.

The outfit looks great and Grey looks great in the role. The outfit is reminiscent of Stargirl's comic book counterpart — everything, including the red gloves, looks comic book accurate. Her mask also resembles Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl mask from Batman & Robin. Grey is the first actress since Britt Irvin's stint on Smallville to step into the role of Stargirl but from looking at the trailer, she's going to do a great job.

First Look At Reverse Flash

His presence haunted — and continues to haunt — Barry Allen on The Flash but Matt Lescher's the Reverse Flash will be heading to Legends of Tomorrow to cause trouble for our time traveling heroes and, perhaps, the heroes of the Justice Society of America.

The first look at him in action proves that he's still as evil as ever and with other criminal cohorts such as Damien Darhk and Captain Cold set to recur throughout the season, the villains could indeed steel the show this season.

Even More Action

The first season of Legends of Tomorrow was extremely action-packed and if this new trailer is anything to go by, then the second season is going to be even better. There appears to be plenty of action sequences in every decade possible as well as the inclusion of historical figures such as Albert Einstein.

Sara is always at the forefront of the action and that appears to be the same this season as we see her swing into action on several occasions during this trailer. The action will no doubt take our colorful heroes to every decade that needs their help, so I imagine we will see some brutal fights with historical figures (and some great fashion throwbacks — check out Mick Rory's mafia type bowler hat at the end of the trailer). The Legends are kicking ass this season.

With a month to go until the Season 2 premiere of DC's Legends Of Tomorrow, there is little time for speculation — this show is so hard to predict because we never know what era the team will find themselves in. What we do know is that Stargirl looks great and the Reverse Flash is back causing trouble. Prepare yourselves for a joyride of epic proportions — the Legends are back and they're stronger than ever!
