Since first binge-watching Stranger Things on Netflix, fans of the series came to find that in a show about some seriously eerie goings-on, the strangest thing of all was how much Steve Harrington looked and acted like Jean Jean-Ralphio Saperstein from Parks and Recreation.
From their perfectly coiffed hair to the unmistakable and somehow likable air of douchebaggery, it's hard not to notice the similarities.
This idea has since spawned a number of fan theories ranging from Steven being Jean-Ralphio's biological father to Pawnee really being a sunny version of the Upside Down. They might sound ridiculous but, like any good fan theory, they're still fun to speculate about.
Yesterday, the tho actors behind the characters, Joe Keery and Ben Schwartz, made our collective minds explode after uniting for a series of Instagram posts. In a video posted to Schwartz's profile, they can be seen expressing the strangeness of the situation.
The caption just proves that sometimes the internet makes awesome things happen.
In another post added to Keery's account, he can be seen teaching his "son" to shave. Because what kind of fictional, alternate universe father would he be if he wasn't fulfilling such important duties?
This beautiful pairing had me thinking about other celebrity doppelgängers that would make fantastic relatives on television. Below is a list of six celebrity pairs who look uncannily alike — and that need to exploit this fact on their current series.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Javier Bardem
- The show: The Walking Dead
- Network: AMC
- Family ties: Brothers
In a recent interview with EW, Morgan confirmed that Season 7 of The Walking Dead would feature a lot of Negan's backstory. The comics — and please correct me if I'm wrong since I'm not an avid reader — don't delve very deep into Negan's background, so I think this would be an awesome chance for Bardem to play Morgan's young brother who is brutally killed in the wake of the zombie apocalypse.
Amy Adams and Julianne Moore
- The show: Sharp Objects
- Network: HBO
- Family ties: Mother/Daughter
After learning that HBO would be adapting Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects as that Amy Adams would be starring as Camille, I envisioned Julianne Moore playing her creepy and domineering mother Adora. To follow the book's description, Moore would have to dye her iconic red hair to blonde, but I think they still share a striking resemblance.
Zachary Quinto and Eli Roth
- The show: American Horror Story
- Network: FX
- Family ties: Brothers
Zachary Quinto and Eli Roth are both dark-haired, devilishly handsome and are fans of the horror genre. Naturally, I think they'd fit together perfectly as two evil brothers on Ryan Murphy's American Horror Story. Since the theme changes from year to year, so I say we just pick a time period and a decent m.o. and really let the blood fly. Or, since Quinto last played a villain on AHS: Asylum, maybe they could be the heroes?

Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis
- The show: Modern Family
- Network: ABC
- Family ties: Niece/Aunt
I think in Modern Family canon Phil Dunphy is an only child, but I have a plan. Phil is shocked to find that when he was a teenager, his father had an extramarital affair that resulted in the birth of a half-sister played by Mila Kunis. (Don't worry, Grace and Frank sorted things out and ended up staying together up until her death.) Not only would open up the series to an awesome guest star, but also more Dunphy storylines as Phil learns more about his new sister, and finds just how similar she is to his daughter Haley.
Will Arnett and Patrick Wilson
- The show: Flaked
- Network: Netflix
- Family ties: Brothers
To be fair, I haven't watched Flaked yet, but I've always thought these two should grace more celebrity doppelgänger lists. I could totally see Patrick Wilson playing Chip's slightly younger, yet far more successful, brother in Season 2 of the Netflix series.
Jennifer Lawrence and Helen Mirren
- The show: TBD?
- Family ties: Granddaughter/Grandmother
Alright, this one is cheating a little bit since there's nothing in the pipeline suggesting these two will work together, but it's just too good to pass up. Jennifer Lawrence looks exactly like Helen Mirren in the '60s! Plus, the two Oscar winners are so talented, seeing them play a grandmother and granddaughter is just begging for critical and commercial success.
