Excited about the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie? Well, you're not the only one. Amateur moviemaker, Devin Graham, has created a live-action short featuring Assassin's Creed 3's Connor Kenway free-running around the woods while knocking off red coats.
However, the guys behind the video aren't just any normal fans. Graham and his team in fact worked with Ubisoft to develop the weapons and moves you saw in Assassin's Creed 3. Along with a costume designed by freelancer Alison Dredge, this three-minute flip-fest could give an insight into what we can expect when the Assassin's Creed movie hits theaters. Well, the video certainly opens in style, with street-stunt performer Ronnie Shalvis perfectly re-enacting one of Connor's signature kills, but from then one it goes a little off-road in more ways than one. The film looks great, but as a fan of the games I was a bit confused to see Connor flipping his way through the woods at a leisurely pace. Sure, somersaults are always awesome, but to me, Altair's/Ezio's/Connor's in-game free-running was usually a bit more practical than what we saw here. I mean, what was the point in that backflip off the tree? That actually looked counterproductive...
But with game developer Ubisoft creatively involved in the movie, and respected film-star attached to produce and star, I'm sure we can expect good things when it's finally released.
