Mark Hamill Reveals 'Star Wars' Master Plan In 1983 Interview

By ⋅ Posted on

Yesterday, we revealed was interested in being part of Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens, and now it seems Mark Hamill's return has been on the cards since Return of The Jedi was released in 1983! Check out the interview below by an amazing looking Maria Shriver. The whole interview is worth a watch to evoke those warm fuzzy feelings of nostalgia, and to marvel at Shriver's hair and shoulder pads, but skip to 3:20 if you want to get straight to the good stuff (via Reddit).

So it may have taken a little longer than the 18 years he expected, but Luke's return has clearly been in the works for a long, long time. This interview, coupled with Ford's reported interest in appearing in Star Wars: Episode VII, point toward the old guard of Ford, Hamill, and Fisher playing some part in the continuation of the franchise.

More intriguing is how Disney intends to pull this off. Hamill mentions alternate planes of existence and the possibility that they won't play the same characters, but what do you think?
