The influence of social media has, for the most part, been a good thing in our young century, keeping us connected, bringing us news, and entertaining us whenever we want. On the other hand, with directors able to instantaneously Tweet set pics and actors and actresses regularly documenting every step of a production, it’s also meant some of the magic and mystery of filmmaking has been lost to us forever.
So it was pretty cool that a new collection of never before seen candid snaps from behind the scenes on the original Star Wars set surfaced online, courtesy of Geek Tyrant. If Twitter and Instagram had existed back in the halcyon days of the 70s, these are the things we would have seen instantaneously.
Personal favorite? Sir Alec Guinness rocking a pair of Jackie O shades. It’s weird to think we’ll probably never have this delightful revelation 30 years after the fact for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, no? GT has more, so if you want to see the rest, click here.
