Sony picks up first-person horror Grace, new-comer Jeff Chan directs

Jeff Chan might not be a name you're familiar with, but he's just been signed on to direct and co-write Sony's next horror-thriller, Grace.

Co-written by Chan and Chris Pare, Grace will be shot entirely from the first person and will star Alexia Fast as an oppressed teen who is plagued by "ungodly forces". From the sounds of things, that's basically Maniac meets Carrie, right?

Sony's Joe Matukewicz had this to say about the commission:

Jeff Chan impressed us with his unique vision for Grace, and we came on board as soon as we read the script. This continues SPWA and Stage 6 Films’ belief in young, fresh filmmakers and builds upon SPWA’s relationship with BKJ from the Insidious franchise.

The film, which is currently filming in Vancouver will also star Alan Dale, Lin Shaye, Alexis Knapp , Joel David Moore and Clarke Peters.

What do you think? I know we don't have much to go on, but does this sound like an intriguing concept, or a bit of a gimmick? Let me know below.
