Joe Manganiello wants to be Batman and reinvent the superhero genre

True Blood star Joe Manganiello was originally in the running to land the role of Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, but eventually lost out to Henry Cavill. That might not be his only brush with superhero greatness though, as he's apparently being considered for the part of Bruce Wayne in the Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. So would the Magic Mike star be interested in the role? Well yes, but he has a couple of requirements: The movie has to deconstruct the superhero genre and it should be like Fight Club.

No really.

Check out the interview he gave to MTV and see for yourself:

Manganiello has got previous superhero movie experience, having played the role of high-school jock Flash Thompson in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and he's certainly got the physique to pull off an intimidating Dark Knight. But with the studio reportedly looking to cast an older and more grizzled Batman, perhaps Manganiello is too much of a pretty boy.

What do you think? Is Manganiello a good choice for Batman?
