'A whole other crazy, disturbing level': James Wan gets pumped for 'Insidious: Chapter 2'
I don't know about you guys, but I'm really stoked for Insidious: Chapter 2. The first Insidious installment scared all kinds of heck out of audiences worldwide, mixing jumps, twists and cool, music video-style production to make one of the best horrors of 2012. Also, it was crazy profitable, making over $100 million.
In this new featurette from FilmDistrict titled 'Grounding the Horror', James Wan and Leigh Whannell reveal some of their thoughts about Insidious: Chapter 2, promising that the film 'takes it to a whole other crazy, disturbing level.' This is exactly what I wanna hear. That, and people in the row behind me vomiting with fear in the theatre.
There's also a couple of nice quotes from Rose Byrne (Renai), who describes her character as 'basically having a nervous breakdown.' I don't think I'd be too chipper with that freaky fracking Beetlejuice-faced lady popping up all over my crib. Watch it, it looks nice and scary, and it's cool how much affection Wan and Whannell have for their grotesque horror baby.
