The news is all over the internet, but in case you missed this: George Clooney got arrested!

Wait, what? Let's take a deep breath and try to figure out what exactly happened. This morning, the actor and noted activist, was arrested in front of the Sudanese embassy in Washington: George was protesting against the inhuman treatment of the people of Sudan by their own government. He and his dad were arrested after refusing to stop blocking the entrance of the embassy. Here's the video:

While we usually look at celebrities' activism with suspicious eyes, George is no immature dude. His activism is not about adopting cute babies from third world countries: he's definitely willing to go all the way in order to raise awareness about areas of the world that are left out from the usual media coverage. And it's not like he's talking about the ongoing violence in Sudan from some golden Hollywood mansion: he has visited the ravaged region of the Nuba Mountains multiple times. Hell, he even got malaria last year as a result.

Sure the man is mostly famous for his other careers: actor, director, two-time Sexiest Man Alive. And sure we could just focus on his countless flings with rather flimsy young ladies. Or on the fact he used to have a pet pig. Which he loved very much. Or even better evergreen speculation: we could just wonder whether he's gay or not.  But does this make his humanitarian  efforts any less important? He is one of the few Hollywood's golden boys using his fame to get some concrete results and willing to take hands in matter: even to the point of getting arrested!

This time people all over the world seem to be with him on this one: #freeclooney and #clooneycrimes are trending on Twitter and we're sure this whole crazy story will soon be over.

But what about you? Do you think George is doing the right thing? Or should he just keep out of politics?
