Dwayne Johnson's Role Confirmed?

Last week we reported that The Rock would be jumping on the superhero bandwagon for DC and taking on the role of a popular superhero. All of this was based on a tweet from His Rockness himself, which simply responded to a fan’s wish to see him in a superhero movie by saying:

Now, Bleeding Cool is reporting that a source of theirs was at a Hollywood party with a drunken Dwayne Johnson who was shouting about how he was about to play drunken biker Lobo on the big screen for DC.

That’s right Lobo. Just when you thought you had this superhero shindig figured out they go and make a movie about Lobo. For those in the un-know here’s what Wikipedia says about him:

Lobo is a Czarnian with exceptional strength and fortitude. He enjoys nothing better than mindless violence and intoxication. Killing is an end in itself; his name roughly translates as “he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it.” He is also arrogant and self-centered, focusing almost solely on his own pleasures, although he proudly lives up to the letter of his promises: no more or no less than what he promised. Lobo is the last of his kind, having committed complete genocide by killing all the other Czarnians for fun. As detailed in Lobo #0, Lobo unleashed a violent plague of flying scorpions upon his homeworld, killing most of its citizens. In Superman: The Animated Series, Lobo nonchalantly tells Superman the fate of his race: “I’m the last Czarnian. I fragged the rest of the planet for my high school science project. Gave myself an A.”

He’s certaintly an awesome anti-hero character but is the time right for DC to be sending out their B-guns? Should we not be looking at Wonder Woman? Why not Green Arrow or The Flash?

I can’t say I’m not excited… just confused. If the movie goes all Sin City, keeps it hyper violent, greasy and drunken then I might be in. Oh and as a member of Team Bring It, I think i’m contractually obliged to support the movie. Oh well.

YEAH!! GO LOBO!!
