Is Kristen Stewarts On the Road

performance a conspiracy to rot the minds Of America’s children? No, of course it’s not, but Radar Online reports that one racy scene has a conservative group up in arms.

Dan Gainor, of the innocuous sounding Culture and Media Institute has decided it’s his duty to tell Kristen Stewart how to run her career, for the children’s sake of course.

Stewart, who has been acting since the age of 11, is most certainly idolized by many teenage fans, due to her starring role as Bella Swan in the Twilight phenomenon. However, according to Mr. Gainor, this early success means she must live a chaste, nun-like existence forever-more, especially when it comes to the roles she chooses.

Mr. Gainor commented:

It is irresponsible of Stewart and manipulative of Hollywood bosses to deliberately try to destroy any sense of decency these actresses might have taught young people

The scene that’s causing so much scandal is from her upcoming venture, On The Road, based on the classic piece of American literature by Jack Kerouac. In the scene, Stewart, now aged 22 and most definitely not a child, plays the character Marylou, who appears naked with her two male companions. I’ll let our buddy Dan take it from here, because there’s nothing more awkward than a conservative guy talking about threesomes:

Kristen Stewart engages in a threesome and masturbates two male characters according to reports.

He then posed the question:

How will parents who took their daughters to see the Twilight movies explain this?

Simply put, they won’t. Or they shouldn’t have to; On The Road is not a film for children, and parents who find themselves in the position of explaining explicit scenes to their kids should probably ask themselves why their children saw it in the first place.

It's acting!

Is it wrong that Kristen Stewart is doing a nude scene in On The Road?

Unfortunately, Kristen never stood a chance with Mr. Gainor, he even took a verbal swipe at the seemingly angelic Anne Hathaway,

[Hathaway] who went from every girl’s dream role model in the Princess Diaries to a nude scene with Jake Gyllenhaal in Love and Other Drugs

To conclude, Gainor made one final damning statement from atop his very high-horse,

All we’ve learned here is that parents should tell their children that the time when most in Hollywood are truly acting is when they are acting decently

The transition from child-star to respected actress is never an easy one, but it is inevitable and as much as Dan Gainor doesn’t like it, going for more mature roles is an established way to break from one’s child-star persona. I’m delighted to see that Kristen Stewart is looking for edgier, more grown-up roles. On The Road looks fantastic and is one of my most anticipated films this year. I’ll be at the cinema opening weekend, but I’ll leave my 10 year-old niece at home.
