Not heard about Rush
yet? It’s the film that Ron Howard gave precedence to over the film adaptation of Steven King series The Dark Tower, so he must think it’s pretty good. Set to be a racing biopic, Howard admitted that he knew nothing about Formula 1 before he started making the film. That said, judging from this behind the scenes featurette -via The Film Stage- I’d say he’s done a pretty good job recreating the thrill of the sport and the glamour of the 70s racing scene.Telling the story of the rivalry between F1 legends James Hunt and Niki Lauda, played by Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brhl respectively. After making his name as Thor, Hemsworth is really diversifying, showing us his range by starring in The Cabin in the Woods
, Snow White and the Huntsman and the upcoming remake of Red Dawn. Both Hunt and Lauda were brilliant, but very different drivers and the film will chart the course of their rivalry with a focus on the events of 1976, which nearly cost Lauda his life. Set to be a spectacular drama for F1 fanatics and newbies alike we can look forwards to Rush being released next year.
