He’s faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. How does the The Man of Steel do it? Probably with help from his awesome threads.
In the spirit of presenting you with images of Tony Stark’s latest suits, we’ve now also got some first-look images of the Man of Steel‘s costumes…

You can check out the full batch of outfits here, via Screen Crave.
What were seeing here is the classic Superman duds that will be worn by Henry Cavill in the movie. Looks like there’s a strange texture to both of the suits, though. It’s certainly not lycra, that’s for sure. What d’you think of them from first impressions?
The traditional blue, red and yellow ‘S’ suit is the one we’ve already seen Cavill wearing on set, so no great surprises there. But the texture seems kinda new. It’s not so shiny or pristine looking as some of the outfits we’ve seen various Supermans wear in the past. Could this be a conscious decision to make him appear more gritty? We already know that the new movie will be edgier than before akin to so perhaps that’s got something to do with this more rugged look.
As for the other suit, what’s that all about? Is it made of actual steel? One recurring image in the early Superman comics was of bullets bouncing off his chest, as if he were made of steel. But then why would he need a suit to protect him?! Tell us what you think…
Unfortunately, the we won’t get to see Henry Cavill in these super outfits until next year. That’s a pretty long time to wait for something we anticipate is going to be this amazing. Nevertheless, the wait might actually be a good thing as we’re being pretty bombarded with superhero movements at the moment, and, this gives Zack Snyder and his movie-making posse enough time to make sure they turn out something really kick-ass…
Man of Steel powers into cinemas July 2013.
