Spider-Man is showboating on the high school basketball court and who can blame him; what would you do with your newly acquired superpowers? We’re assuming this little snippet from The Amazing Spider-Man

comes fairly soon after Peter Parker is bitten, but probably before he realizes how important keeping a low profile is to being a superhero. Watch him take on Flash, the school basketball champ in this latest TV spot courtesy of Comic Book Movie.

We’d had tons of TV spots before The each giving us a glimpse of the big set piece scenes, but none of them went into nearly as much depth about what we can expect from Andrew Garfield’s Spiderman. It’s good to see that the reboot hasn’t gone for the usual dark, moody style that filmmakers seem to love at the moment. Spidey has retained his wise-cracking, playful side, which is just as well. Nobody’s going to be doing a grittier comic film than The Dark Knight Rises

this year, and no one wants to see a depressed Spider-Man any more than they want to see a happy Batman. Sorry Bruce, it’s true!
