Hot on the heels of the announcement that Portia Doubleday and Judy Greer will play two of Carrie’s unfortunate victims, we have an interview with star Chlo Moretz discussing the new direction of the Carrie
remake.Speaking to /Film, Moretz assures us that the film will be quite different from Brian De Palma’s 1976 version and will bear a greater resemblance to the plot and style of Stephen King’s book:
I am changing everything about memy hair, my look Im doing my own take on [the character]. The script is totally different from the [original]. Its more like the book. Its a more Black Swan versionit messes with your mind. Youll see things, and you dont know if youve seen them.
A Black Swan version of Carrie sounds rather interesting, no? We have no doubt that Moretzwho is due to reprise her role as Hit-Girl in Kick-Ass 2
is a capable actress who’ll bring a freaky side to the character of Carrie White. She was wonderfully weird in Let Me In, in which she dismembers a gang of school bullies, and we can expect a lot more grim high school violence from her in the near future.Carrie hits theaters March 15, 2013.
