Is there life for the Twilight franchise after The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2

? That’s been the big ‘suspenseful’ question ever since Lionsgate bought over Summit Entertainment, Twilight‘s parent studio, back in January.

Is there really a doubt in anyone’s mind that Lionsgate will flog the dead Twilight horse until Twihards scream: ‘Enough now!’ If that ever happens…

I think it’s pretty obvious that there is more Twilight in the cards, whatever form it ends up taking: reboot, remake, spin-off, TV show, musical, new material, or a freaking puppet show if that’s what it takes. As long as Twihards beg for more, Lionsgate will be more than happy to oblige.

Therefore, any news that the studio is thinking about how to best milk the franchise further isn’t really big news at all. Over the weekend, Bloody Disgusting made a big fuss about their ‘insider information’ that Lionsgate is planning a reboot. They warned that the studio would shoot down the rumors, but rest assured, IT’S HAPPENING!

Naturally, Summit Co-Chairman Rob Friedman called Deadline directly to deny the rumors:

We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephanie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change.

Bottom line: of course Twilight will go on, it’s just a matter of when and how. Nothing shocking here.
